This recipe is our preferred blend of beeswax and bayberry waxes, giving a smooth even burn without too much dripping.
Add bayberry and bees waxes to melting pot.
Melt and stir to combine.
Bring wax to about 160°F then carefully pour candle.
As candle cools and wax sets the was will shrink creating a well. Pierce the wax in a couple places to release surface tension then top off the mold with more melted wax. Larger size candles may require a second top off.
This 1 pound recipe will yield any of the following types of candles:
- Ten 6-inch tall, .6-inch diameter tapers
- Four 12-inch tall, .75-inch diameter tapers
- One 4-inch tall, 3-inch diameter pillar
Candle yield will vary, depending on mold shape.
